What is a hospital wayfinding system?

A hospital wayfinding system guides patients and visitors to the right clinic, ward, lab or pharmacy without asking at every corner. Mappire maps every building and floor in 3D. Patients open it from a QR code at the gate or a link in their appointment message, then follow the route on their phone.

The route starts before the visit

Send the destination with the appointment. The patient sees which entrance and floor to use before leaving home, and walk-in visitors scan a QR code at the entrance.

Routes for every patient

  • Step-free routes through lifts and ramps, for wheelchairs, crutches and strollers.
  • A live blue dot with turn-by-turn directions, no extra hardware.
  • Arabic and English, one tap to switch.
  • The same map on reception kiosks and touchscreens.

A map as current as the hospital

Clinics move, wards close and lifts go out of service. Your facilities team updates the dashboard and every patient sees the change at once, with no reprinted signs.

Operations on the same map

Staff see mobile equipment, occupancy and busy areas and camera feeds on the map patients use. One platform for the patient journey and the people running the building.

What should a hospital check before choosing?

  • A full trip from the car park to an upper-floor clinic, across buildings.
  • A step-free version of the same route.
  • A corridor closed live, and the public map rerouting.

Proven with more than 30,000 users at HACE Expo.

Questions buyers ask

Do patients need to download a hospital app?

Does it support step-free routes?

Yes. Routes can switch to lifts and ramps for wheelchair users, patients on crutches and parents with strollers.

Can staff use the same map for operations?
